Asymmetrical Floristry Workshop
As we opened the doors of our new studio in November the very first event we held was a floristry workshop dedicated to creating asymmetrical compositions. A very exciting step for us at Fine Stems was welcoming the attendees to the our new space and we couldn’t wait to get creative! With the shelves perfectly set with vases and fresh flower neatly tucked away in the fridge room, we were ready to kick things off and had the champagne at the ready. It took us many months of preparations to get the studio finished and ready to go so welcoming our first workshop attendees was a big deal!
As the attendees arrived in the morning there was a lot of excitement and as soon as Kate was done with explaining the theory we all got straight to practice. First, Kate showed how to clean and prep different types of flowers and how to set up the oasis in the vase to make sure the composition is nice and sturdy once finished. Then, all of the attendees were given a free run with choosing and mixing their florals, arranging their composition and creating that perfect arrangement ready for them to take home.
It was amazing to see how talented our attendees are and how unique each composition came out reflecting individual styles. Everyone took their composition home and needless to say we’ve opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate together once all of the compositions were complete!
We would like to thank all of our attendees for coming and it was a huge pleasure to mark the opening of our studio with such a lovely and merry gathering. We cannot wait to hold more workshops in the near future now that our studio is fully open and running!
